Susegad Shakshuka

Shakshuka, a mid-east delicacy, is simpler to cook with Bhuna Pisa Goan Fiesta paste.

Ingredients

200g pack of Bhuna Pisa Goan Fiesta paste

  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 2 large Onions, roughly chopped
  • 2 large Tomatoes, roughly chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper Powder
  • 4 Eggs
  • Coriander Leaves, roughly chopped
  • Feta Cheese, optional

Serves: 2 | Cooking Time: 20 Minutes

Steps

  • 1 Heat oil in a large pan. Add onions and sauté for 4-5 minutes till they begin to caramelise.
  • 2 Add tomatoes and sauté for 5 minutes till they begin to get soft and lose their shape.
  • 3 Add Bhuna Pisa Goan Fiesta paste and ½ cup of water. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes until tomatoes are completely soft and melt into the sauce. Add salt to taste.
  • 4 Add ½ cup of water to the sauce. Make 4 small wells in the sauce using the spoon. Carefully crack the 4 eggs and put one into each of the wells.
  • 5 Cover and cook for 5 to 8 minutes depending on how soft you like your eggs.
  • 6 When done, uncover the pan, sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper onto the eggs.
  • 7 Garnish with chopped coriander, feta cheese. Serve directly from the pan onto the dish. This goes well with toast or garlic bread.
